Pete's History
The first Italians sailed past the statue of liberty, onto Ellis Island, and finally into New York City. They brought with them a culture steeped in custom and rich tradition. That was how the American Mafia was born.
The early leaders of the Mafia in America were called "Mustache Pete's" by younger Italian gangsters, a term coined to deride their elders' inability to adapt to the new society and their insistence on extraction of '"respect" from those beneath them. Mustache Pete's' were members of the original Mafia; they flourished during the prohibition era and were known for their long mustaches.
Today
Mustache Pete's identifies a restaurant offering traditional Italian great foods. Here in Cambria Mustache Pete's was established in 1986 by Dennis
Blume. His goal was to bring authentic Italian cuisine to residents and visitors of the central coast. Always eager to bring the best foods and service
Dennis has spared no expense or labor to keep the Mustache Pete's experience the best it can be.
Long time customers may remember the patio without a cover or heaters but are sure to recognize the friendly faces of the long time staff as well as the smell of something good cooking. We sincerely hope you enjoy the time you spend with us here.
Come back again often and watch as we change; ...always for the better. ...and who knows, if you look around you might just see one of the old Dons or the Godfather himself.
